Corn Beans Squash
It seems more and more in life, I see things in 3s. Just recently, a BBC show talked about the optimum way to plant. They described the process Native Americans used to plant corn, then beans, then squash. Planting these 3 crops “feeds” the soil for the next crop. How wonderful science is! and the natural world really does work in harmony. And no fancy degrees were attained back then….Native Americans just saw what happened and set it in practice.
I was listening to The Understory-Life in the Soil on the BBC. What a great listen it was.
The discussion was mainly about Native Americans and how they planted, but this is still a thing…now called Three Sisters Gardens.
Bottom line, one has to learn what the story is in their valley.
And as William Shatner, at age 91, said recently, “I probably say “wow” more now than when I was a child.”
