2019 Temperatures in Knit and Purl
So this was my second year of doing a temperature blanket. The first year was a crocheted one that turned out so heavy I use it as one of those gravity/weighted blankets. In 2019, my daughter MaryAnn McKibben Dana inspired me to try again as she was knitting her first temperature blanket, with lace on rows she ran (she’s a marathoner and beyond, as she ran and completed the JFK 50 miler!!! a few months ago). So I decided to do 2 blankets using my favorite yarn supplier, Miss Babs’ Big Silk Worsted. The months of Jan-Jun were done in stockinette… the last 6 months in garter. I did a row for the high and low temp each day, and if I traveled I used the temps of the place I was visiting which gave some great color changes. I used a pattern 5-6 rows with the various colors I used to separate the months. I’m very pleased with this year’s efforts.
